Supported
Living
Greater Tomorrow Residences Inc.'s Supported Living programs are designed to care for youth and adults who require more intensive services in safe, caring, and individualized home environments. Our programs are tailored for individuals who have often been described as "hard to serve" — those with complex emotional, mental health, and behavioral challenges who have experienced multiple failed placements in more traditional residential settings.
Who We Serve:
Our Intensive Supported Living program supports individuals who:
- Have a history of unsuccessful placements in traditional residential care
- Require one-on-one care to manage behavior and daily routines
- Present with a variety of complex emotional and mental health challenges
- Need intensive behavioral supports and enhanced supervision
- Are working toward greater independence in a less intrusive adult living environment
Our Approach:
Goals and planning for individuals in our Supported Living programs are determined through a Person-Centered Planning process, developed in full collaboration with all stakeholders including the individual, their family, and partner agencies.
Our programs are specifically designed to establish placement stability while building each resident's capacity to move toward living in a less restrictive environment over time. We achieve this by establishing competency in skills that are congruent with each individual's developmental and functional abilities — allowing them to learn, master, and generalize functional skills in real-world settings. This results in the formation of positive relationships, higher levels of personal compliance, and socially adaptive behavior.
Our professional, trained staff are skilled at ensuring each individual meets their primary goals — actively working to break the cycle of placement breakdown that many of our residents have previously experienced. We provide safety for clients, staff, and the broader community, and we guide and support our clients in staying out of the criminal justice system. We aim to provide positive, stabilizing experiences that help residents establish roots in their community and develop a genuine sense of belonging.
